I have a 4" well with a pump that get me 4 gpm. I'm adding a 4 ton geo heat pump system and need to pull the old pump out and put in a new one, thinking I need at lease 10-12 gpm to runt it and the house The well hits water a 40 feet but the well is 200 ft deep. What is the best energy efficient pump to use

You might want to check the wells yield before going too far. Ie, you are sure can it continually produce > 10 gpm?

Variable speed pumps are attractive. Always carefully check the flow and pressure curves (based on worse case level, not the total depth).

You need the water level first. Ie, worse case (12 gpm + other usage (much much?), low water table), how deep is the water?
