First post here.. I'm wondering if there is a way to modify the desuperheater circuit to pump hot water through my radiant floor piping? Mechanically I know how to connect the water because I have got it all connected to work with my 80 gallon buffer tank, but I'm not sure the idea makes sense. We have a 4 ton CM unit that works great but we like to heat the floors with our tankless propane unit (gets expensive). I know if I just connected the hwg circuit from the heat pump it would probably recirculate hot water through the floor like it does in my buffer tank, but of course the air/water exchanger would still be running and the house air would warm up long before the floors would. I could turn the water temp up to the max via the dip switches but still wouldn't add much heat to the floor I imagine. Maybe there is a hack or modification people have tried. it's a long shot but figured I'd ask. But The more I talk through it, I doubt it's possible. Unless there was a hack to increase water flow (add water pumps??) to steal a lot more heat off the compressor until there wasn't much left to push into the coils.. Probably doesn't make sense. anyway, thoughts or ideas are appreciated. I have solar panels and could use the extra electric during the sunny hours to warm the floors instead of pushing it into the batteries.
