Hi, I will definitely call a professional if that is warranted. I just want to check that it's working correctly before I call (or not working). Climatemaster 4 ton installed in 2009. HWG is plumbed correctly to buffer tank. System is heating and cooling just fine. I finally hooked up a WEL current sensor to the Taco circulator for the HWG(DSH) and I have discovered that it never seems to come on. I taped a WEL temp probe to the compressor condensor line and it never goes above 125 that I've noticed. I checked the wiring and there is power (220) across the connections on the main board, a wire runs to a switch/sensor on the compressor line, then to a switch/sensor on the Cold-In pipe, then to the Taco pump, then back to the board. SO I know it's getting power when the system is on. But I guess one of the switch/sensors isn't closing. I'm surprised that it's not running, but the AC does usually only run for about 10-15 minutes every so often to keep our house comfortable (Southeastern PA). Is there anything I can do before calling someone? Thanks in advance.

This is a common occurrence in heat dominated climate.

We all are told the summer a/c use will create "free hot water", unfortunately doesn't work that way. I get good DSH in winter.

Your run time indicates unit may be a bit oversized for cooling, which is common in heat dominated climate.

I put in a climate master around 2005 and the pump was frozen from new....

Have you found a solution to this problem? Mine appears to be doing the exact same thing. On mine the compressor line isn't ggetting hot enough to close the switch and turn on the taco pump.
