New member. After 20 faithful years my 2005 Water furnace E series (2 ton) is on it's last leg. My local and experienced Geo-Installer recommend going with a new system as he felt the old one (that needs a compressor) will start nickel and diming me on repairs. He recommended a Water Furnace 5 Series which will set me back about $20K. He also talked about the Series 7 for an additional $10K but for my 1200sq/ft single story house I think the 5 Series will suffice. If I go with a new system what should I be considering with the Series V unit has far as options/add on's? Also when I had my original install I took advantage of the tax credit. Does the tax credit still apply if I replace the system with a new one? Thoughts?

There are much better Geo forms to ask then this but I am surprised at the price tag to just change out a unit and a 2 ton at that. No changes to the field?

The field? If you mean the loops in the ground; no changes.

Highly advise against considering ClimateMaster if that was even on your consideration list. I am 13 years in and the unit has cost me $6000 in repairs following the initial installation. Curious about your experience with Water Furnace - what has your experience been like with regards to downtime and repairs? I'm considering going back to a traditional HVAC system since I have not seen the overall benefit of the ClimateMaster unit. It is a Tranquility 27 5 ton unit.
