I have been researching green building products and came across Dragonboard. The products sound wonderful, however, I have not been able to find a distributor. I live in upstate New York. Does anybody know where I, as a homeowner, can buy the products?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer directly? I used a few products new to the market on my house. In each case, the manufacturers were more than willing to help me find a way to purchase their products.
Regards,
Ed

One last word... I found them more willing to speak to me when I stated that I was "my own general contractor" rather than the "home owner". Ed

I did contact the manufacturer. They were very helpful. However, their only shipping outlet is in NJ and they ship only in large quantities to contractors. I only learned about them when I was researching milk paint and saw that some one had used these panels. They seem to be an amazing product. |

Is Dragonboard being used by any company in SIPS? Is any company making SIPS out of MGO board other than the Magnum board? |

I found this excerpt on Injuryboard.com "A respondent to IB News- Honolulu says that the wallboard may actually be Chinese magnesium oxide board, also called Mag Board, MgO Board and Dragon Board. Wet it and it releases magnesium chloride, corrosive to metal, he says. Heat it and it releases magnesium oxide fumes." Read more: http://www.injuryboard.com/national...z0fZTi7Xhc |

Probably not a very reliable source. Magnesium oxide won't even melt below 5100 F so concerns about MgO fumes are pointless. The house would be nothing but ash before any MgO fumes were formed. |

Greg, Are you speaking specifically about MgO's fuming capacity or is that a generalized statement based on melting point. I ask this because some chemical compounds will release fumes at temps far below the melting point.

Just MgO. It would need to be very hot to generate MgO in a gaseous state. |
