I purchased "wired" lights, I think from Overstock or Ebay that came without bulbs, then purchased the LED bulbs separately. The lights are wired on a low-voltage system, under trees, along paths, and in shrubbery, but it's all hooked to a deep cycle battery in the basement that's charged with a solar panel on the roof of the house. Probably a bit more involved than what your client wants, but the advantage is being able to put the lights under trees/in shadow, but still have hours and hours of light. The LED bulbs use less than a watt each, so even on a cloudy day, the battery still has plenty of juice. The battery is indoors, too, so less suceptible to freezing in winter. |
