I am starting a job using james hardie lap siding in knoxville tn and would like to know what people think about what the best product would be for corner boards

Have you looked at cellular PVC for corner boards and window trim? Cellular PVC can be painted just like fibercement.

Use 2 pieces of sidng to make the corner, rip down to your desired width. It matches the best especially if it's prefinished.
