I'm interested in using some fleeces I've acquired to insulate my roof. I know of commercial applications, so I know I need to treat with a Borate solution in order to deter bugs, but I'm wondering - will I have to remove the lanolin (grease) with hot water and detergent or will the insulation be alright after a cool water detergent bath to remove the dirt and some of the lanolin? Has anyone heard of DIYers using wool in the grease? Thanks.
