Hello All,

I had some feedback on concrete floor options on another topic. I thought the specific issues regarding finishing a poured floor deserved a thread of their own.

I have seen some examples of stained and polished floors that I find quite pleasing. Also, running some saw-cuts to create break-lines can help with cracking and if grouted can make the whole thing look like large tiles. Pretty cool.

I recently heard of what I’ll call “fine detail interior stamping” that can add texture and even look like wood floors! Pretty cool too.

Anybody have good examples/experience of these and other finishing techniques?

Cheers,
-Jeff

I've been down this road.  Amazing and beautiful things are possible, but you can't just collect pictures and tell your local concrete guy to "do this...".

They're artists.

You need to talk to the artists, look at their portfolios and see what they have done and what they think they can do for you.

Here is a good book that has a nice mix of pretty pictures, inspiration and actual technique;
