I want to build a tiny/tumbleweeds home that can fit on a bike trailer that can expand when stationary.  I am looking for lightweight, preferably recyclable materials.  I don't want to use aluminum because of the heat.  What are some suggestions?  What I want it to look like.

What are your "bike trailer" specifications, e.g. size, gross weight, etc.?

I'd use SIPs (or equivalent foam sandwich) with aluminum, fiberglass or thin plywood surfaces. Not sure what you mean about aluminum being hot (either anodize it or paint it white).

Not to overthink this, but wouldn't that be a tent?

Is aerogel recyclable?

No, but if you fill the aerogel with hydrogen, it won't even need a trailer - just a rope to tie it down.

Aerogel is now getting attention for more mainstream purposes such as insulation applications,specifically targeting thermal bridging issues. Given it's attributes,it's well suited to this. In fact,aerogel is said to be the highest insulating material existence!

Kerdi Board sounds like a material that would work. You could make your own with XPS boards and plastic laminate. Bruce
