How much more does a raised heel / 'energy heel' truss instead of a normal style truss?!?!?

It's really "in the noise" as engineers like to say. The additional material & labor costs for building an energy heel into the truss is miniscule compared to the overall. An energy heel truss from one vendor for the same roof could easily be under the bid of some other "standard" truss vendor's numbers or conversely, but something on the order of 10% more might be a reasonable upper bound. The raised heel adds only 4 small timber elements in most designs, adding up to ~10% more board-feet of lumber. Get some quotes for energy heels from a couple of different vendors if you need to pencil it in any finer that.

A comparative picture drawn at random from a google search:

On a related subject, I have a hip roof with fairly deep overhangs on all sides. Besides blocking some summer sun, it keeps the walls, windows and foundation dryer. In some really hot climates with passive cooling, I've seen overhangs so large that it's a porch all around. And they put some insulation in it to keep roof heat from radiating downward onto the porch.
