Hey guys, I am about to purchase the zone control board and thermastats for my three story house. I have three zones, one on each floor. I have used honeywell products before and really like my present t stat in my current house. I have looked at the prestige IAQ and also the new carrier t stat and am having trouble deciding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. PS do you think i need an outdoor sensor. i live in NC and will also have radiant on two floors. Thanks , michael

Look into Honeywell's Redlink system .We recently installed one with 8 zones.System works extremely well.

Thanks AC. I think im going with an entry level redlink board and inexpensive programable thermastats. I can uprgrade t stats latter.

The Redlinks are great and all, but do they have versions that work suitable anticipation & hysterisis for hyrdonic radiant floors (either high mass or staple-up)?
Most types of radiant floors have a serious lag issues that often won't work well typical T-stats used with hot air or low-mass hydronic systems- the room temperatures both overshoot & undershoot the setpoints in radiant applications.. The better radiant-specific T-stats will have a floor-temp sensor (eg. Tekmar 508 or 510) as well as room air temp sensing, and algorithms for dealing with the rate of change of the air temp (in both directions) to keep the room temps constant. Only if the radiant is a highly responsive above-the-subfloor system such as WarmBoard etc. would a standard version provide satisfactory results under all conditions.

Thanks Dana, The t stats and board im gettin now are just for the heatpump. The radiant is going to have to wait for a heat source till we can afford it, probably next year. I assumed that it would have a seperate t stat. I would like to spend as little as possible now while retaining the ability to upgrade later, hopefully with some home automation when it becomes more affordable.

Thanks for the link. That looks awesome. I am definrntly gonna get a nest at least for my main floor. The ability to contact it from my iphone is the clincher. I like the way it is always trying to push you to be more energy effiecient. It wont be out till later in nov but im gonna wait. Thanks for the heads up. Its called the NEST thermastat if u want to google it. Great video on the website that shows how to install it.
