I've got an alpinepure HRV (APHRV200H) which is run from the included humidistat. The operation is 2 speed - fan lo and fan high - but it runs continuously. I'm looking at getting a new thermostat for the house, and i'm wondering if the prestige IAQ can control this HRV? Specifically, 1. Can it program the HRV to follow the programmed schedule? 2. Can the schedule shut the HRV off completely? or will the HRV always run in low speed mode when connected to the thermo? 3. Can the high speed fan be easily activated from the thermostat, say if we're cooking? Thanks

Does it make much noise? Can you hear the fan running. Where is it located?

Noise isn't the issue. I don't need it to run 24x7. I'd like it to run about 50% of the time for efficiency and to not have air blowing.

Ergnut -
I have the same model HRV in my ICF home. I use a digital timer to turn it off for several hours each day (usually at night) for a slight boost in efficiency.
This may not totally address your issue but it does seem to provide some help in decreasing energy use.

The answer to my original question is that the prestige iaq can drive the , but not on a setback type schedule. It can operate it a certain % of the time or it can be driven to refresh the house air based on the ashrae calculation. It can also turn on the hrv using a timer override, but it can't (from what I've seen) turn on the hrv high speed mode via ventilation controls. It can turn the high speed by operating it as a dehumidifier, though.
