I have a 4 year old ICF house. On days where there is windy rain we will get water dripping between the extension jamb and trim on 4 of our windows. We have torn off a little dry wall and the trim above the window and determined that the water is coming down the wall in between the interior foam of the ICF and the drywall. The only the 4 windows have in common is that they all have a window above them on the second story. We also removed the lower trim on the window above but only cut a little drywall here and there to try to find moisture coming in under the window or buck but couldn't find any. The exterior finish on the house is Dryvit. Please help with this perplexing problem.

Sounds like the flashing may not be properly installed on the upper windows (or maybe on all of them.) More dissection would be necessary to figure it all out.

Would there be any way to seal it from the inside to avoid cutting into the Dryvit on the outside if this is the case? I attached a few pictures that we took during the construction.

Wheatley, download Irfanview or something like it, and use it to resize and save the pics for posting.

Do the windows above have sill pans? This sounds like a flashing issue with wind driven rain getting behind the cladding and not having a passage back to the exterior. Need pictures for starters, but this is unlikely to be fixable from the inside only. You may need someone onsite to figure it out. You can simulate the wind driven rain with a garden hose/ sprinkler fairly easily.

good luck

Where is the home located and post up some pictures when you get a chance.

The difference is clear
