I have a Synergy 3 water furnace which has worked flawlessly for the first 4+ years. Then last april it quit on me. The hi pressure light comes on and it shuts down. I reset it by turning the breakers off and it will run for a little more than an hour then shuts down again. In talking with my installer (who lives 2 hour away) he determined that it might be the electronic temperature control and sent a new one out which I replaced. This made no difference. I then had a local installer out. He was unable to diagnose the problem but we found that if the hot water switch was turned to 'off' the furnace worked fine, just no hot water. I have been using the furnace like this since. I am now trying to solve this problem and have turned the hot water switch back on and have noticed that all works well for a bit more than an hour and the unit will shut down. I also see that it doesn't matter what temperature the ETC is set to the furnace always makes the water 130 which I assume is as hot as this machine can make it. Can anyone help diagnose this problem.

Where are you located? I would go to the WF dealer locator and have a local contractor come out. Once they are out WaterFurnace has a 1800 number with 5 service techs at the factory that can walk the contractor through the issue. I think WF has a username on this site and you can often send them your model and serial # and they can help you online as well.

Darrel, We are represented by a distributor in Saskatchewan. The name of the WaterFurnace representative is Hydron Aire. We would suggest contacting them at (204)255-3360 for further assistance. WaterFurnace International, Inc.
