My observation is that bedroom doors are always in swing. Does anyone know why? I'm asking because the floor plan I'm working on has a 'side step' in the hallway leading to the master bedroom, actually the hallway widens from 4 ft to 7 ft upon passing a closet 4 ft before the door. It seems to me a logical place for an outs wing door as the open door is completely 'out of the way'.

Normally doors swing in to prevent hitting someone passing in the hall. If thats not likely to happen then by all means swing it out. Just remember that doors "look" different if the door is mounted to the front and the one next to it is mounted to the back i.e. you see the jamb.

FBBP,
Thank you! The hall ends at this door so it'll be out swing, again thanks.
