Hello: Is is OK to dump & compact loads of 3/4 crushed stone directly on top of bedrock & then build footings and a foundation on top of that? Thanks, Rob.

Footings poured directly on and pinned to bedrock is definitely the strongest option, but if the gravel is compacted properly, it shouldn't be an issue. But there are a few things to consider. Is the area subject to seismic activity? How much slope are we talking about? Will the perimeter of the gravel fill be contained by native soil?

Not much seismic activity but there is some from time to time. The slope is 3 feet over 26 feet - 12%? Yes, the gravel will be contained by native soil - sand & natural gravel. Thanks, Rob.
