Hello: Are Larsen Truss walls strong enough to support, for example, 'James hardy' fiber-cement board siding? Thanks, Rob.
Rob.

I have the same question. We built our house in 1990 with larsen trusses (24" on center) on the exterior for 12" of insulation - covered with Tyvek and western red cedar siding - no sheathing. The siding is pulling out on a few ends here and there and is too weathered to stain or paint. We're thinking about replacing the it this summer and have been looking at vinyl or James Hardy cement-fiber board siding. I'm concerned about the weight, as well as the possibility of having to sheath under it with 1/2 plywood. Anyone with experience or advice. We are in Eastern Maine. Thanks, Marie.
