My contractor asked me to looking into do a house spray wrap instead of a normal wrap. He said I could cut down on using insulated siding and in-house spray in foam. I like the idea of the spray on house wrap but not sure about its effect versus spray foam inside. Do you have any insight one way or the other on this subject? This is new construction. Thanks,

apples and oranges. the spray on wrap is in place of Tyvek, not insulation. Perhaps he's planning to use interior spray foam for air sealing? If so, and without getting into the pros and cons of that, I'd say to do whatever you are planning to do on the interior and utilize this exterior spray for a good exterior water and air barrier. "Insulated siding" as in vinyl insulated siding? The "insulated" part is a good way for the vinyl manufacturers to increase their sales dollars, but a waste of money as far as insulating your house. Buy the standard uninsulated siding and put your money into better insulation, either inside or outside.
