Does anyone know of a mini split system where the internal duct/device can fit in between ceiling joists? I believe my joists are 16" apart. This is a row home in Philadelphia, there are no wall joists as all walls are (brick) party walls to adjacent neighbors. We're looking at mini splits as a possible AC (cooling) only solution, ideally we want to conceal the internal duct/device in the ceiling between the joists. I've looked high and low and found LG, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, and others offer a 22" cassette which obviously won't fit. Lowering the ceiling isn't an option either, our ceiling are already pretty low. Does anyone know of a company which offers such a solution? FYI: For heat, we're considering radiant floor heating throughout the house. Doug

Are you against the wall mounted units?

I believe that with proper reinforcing around it, you can remove a section of ceiling joist.
