This is just an informative video. I do not have a question just a video with the build off my small off-grid house Some of the construction method is a bit unusual using stacked 2x4 similar to a log house construction. House is 65sqm (700sqft) and with better than average thermal insulation about R35 walls and R75 for roof. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people in here so I will like to here their thoughts about the construction method.
There is the Link to Video if the embedded one is not working

Thanks for the video. Does the foundation require anything to prevent frost heave? How does the attic breath? What is the siding (yellow) made of?

Where did you build this home?  Why did you install the 2x4's horizontally?

I do not think frost heave will be an issue because of the type of soil I have here Is actually just gravel and the thin top soil was removed. But you can usually make a perimeter around the house with EPS insulation and I will maybe do that even if is not necessary in my particular case.
I do not know if the therm is attic is a roof filed with pink insulation the ventilation is just under the steel roofing material is like a double roof that is the method used in Europe where the asphalt shingles are not popular mostly ceramic tiles and steel is used.
There is no siding even if it looks that way. Unfortunately the winter had come a bit stronger and faster than expected (my mistake) so I did not had time to finalize the exterior what you see is just acrylic paint on top of the EPS insulation mostly to protect the EPS from UV damage until the spring when another layer of EPS will be added and final layer will be a thin layer of stucco reinforced with fiberglass mesh.
There are quite a lot of things not finalized is quite a challenge to build a complete house just me and my wife even if is a relatively small house.

The house is in Saskatchewan Canada. I wanted a stronger house than typical 2x6 frame that was one reason another is that I do not like to have OSB is quite toxic.

I would be concerned that with all the water coming off the roof, gravel that might normally be frost proof might create a problem. Especially in the spring when the ground is still frozen further down. I assume that the Nova Seal roof underlay allows vapor to pass through? Or the attic is vented?

It is true that there is no water collection from the roof right now but there will be. There is so much gravel there and so deep that the water will not stay there not even in spring when snow melts. Frost can be a problem with clay type soil and you will probably need to remove much more top soil and fill the place with gravel in that case. The house build was started at the end of 2012 so it already went trough one winter cycle. Yes the Nova Seal allows vapor to pass through. The attic is not vented. I have installed a humidity and thermometer combo in the attic to monitor the condition the humidity varies between 40% and max 55% Right now there are -21.3C and 41% humidity outside temperature is -26C and humidity is 69% the outside temperature and humidity are according to weather network I do not have the weather station installed outside.
