Hi. I recently had mini split heat pumps installed in my house and I have been noticing quite a bit of condensation happening on the refrigerant lines as they run through my very damp and unfinished basement. Is this normal, or should the lines be insulated better to prevent this from happening? They are wrapped in what I assumed was the standard insulation material, since my units were installed by a "Diamond" Misubishi installer. I was also wondering if there is also a danger of condensation building up within the walls of my house and causing the wood to rot or grow mold. Has anyone heard of this being a problem? I'd appreciate if anyone is able to shed some light on this topic for me, as I haven't really been able to find much through an internet search. Thanks.

All my linesets were well insulated with neoprene rubber and an abrasion sleeve, I believe.

Yes, a damp basement will cause mold problems. I'd seal it up well and use a dehumidifier.
