I need to seal some windows in my home. I was planning on using lime putty, but have heard that it might not create a very good seal and that I should use trowel mastic instead.

How do I make this stuff?

(Please no suggestions about any modern products unless they are made from 100% natural materials; I have SEVERE chemical sensitivities.)
