Hello, Moving forward on a residential project. Here in Maine we rarely use slabs, but we are for this build. Floating slab, stem wall construction. My concrete sub has recommended waiting as long as humanly possible to pour, what will be, the slab and finish floor of the ground level. Thereby providing for maximum compaction/settling beyond the mechanical and keeping we the carpenters from denting, chipping, and generally screwing something up on an unsealed surface. Laying out and constructing a double stud wall and standing it from a finished floor of any sort is a project. Constructing one without a floor to use as an assembly table has me looking for tips. The current grade inside the stem walls will be 15" below sill height. Any ideas out there? Thank you for any insight! Neddick
