Ater posting a question regarding my wall assembly I was advised to use eps instead of xps for my sheathing insulation. I've since found that while xps and polyiso are widely available in my area, eps is not. I can't find a single insulation distributor or building supplier that carries eps sheets...except for Lowes, and they only carry 1"thick sheets. Cellofoam is the manufacturer of the product Lowe's carries. Other than them I'm not having much success. Any suggestions regarding manufacturers? And why is it so much more difficult to find while xps and polyisocyanurate are so readily available?

Don't know why one foam is easier to locate than the other, but here is a good lead for you for almost any foam you might need. www.UnivFoam.com They are jobbers that use foam factories all over the country, so they can get small orders if necessary (without an argument from the factory) and custom cut your foam panels to any width, thickness and length you need. I have found that most foam factories are only interested in selling directly to you if you buy BIG orders. Custom sizes mean BIGGER orders. UnivFoam may only buy your small order, but since they buy all the time, the factory's do what is required with a smile. Good luck.

Regarding above subject, here are my questions: What features are you looking for, ie; water resistance, non-combustibility, R-Value? To help me better answer your need, can you share what the entire wall assembly is?

Do you have an R-Control SIP manufacturer in your area? The will make EPS sheets to your specs (density, size, thickness, borate treated, etc.) and usually cost less than a builders supply.
