Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kyle. I am trying to become more educated in "green" living with regards to building. I work for a great company that is involved with home-based biodegradeable cleaning products, and it is just a growing interest of mine. I'd love to be able to own a green living space in the near future, as I think it is important for us to live sustainably. Especially considering that there are now 7.5 billion people on the planet! Hope to learn a lot here! God bless!

I am all for "living green". But I am afraid the earth cannot "sustain" 7.5 billion people, no matter how green we live. People are infesting the earth the same way fleas infest a dog. The host can take some infestation, but when it becomes too much, the host will die. Now I am sure to get blasted for claiming over population is the real problem, but it is! I am not saying we need to thin the existing population, we just need to literally stop screwing ourselves out of an earth to live on.

I can't believe how our planet has had so much exponential growth over the past decade. I feel like I was just getting my head wrapped around the idea of the earth having 6.5 billion people. Land/resource conservation is going to be a huge challenge in our future. It will be interesting to see how the earth and all of us are able to adapt. As for me, I will try to do my part and have less of a carbon footprint on the world. It would be interesting to see how the Earth would be impacted if 50 people transformed their lives to become more "green". Better yet, 500 people. We might not think we have a huge impact on the world, but think about how much waste we go through in a week. I think it would be easy to become defeated thinking we aren't making any meaningful contribution to the world and to just give up, but I'm not sure that I would be very happy with myself to that end. And I know how much trash I can produce!

Hi people, My name is Christie Sibley and I am from San Jose, CA. The area where I live is not as much clean as it should be and I agree with you that we are infesting the planet and producing thrash daily knowingly or not knowingly. It's so bad but it's the truth. And I believe that one person if firm can make change to one extend. Cheers to green planet!
