I want to build a small mud hut for saunas/sweatlodges that can fit one person. It should be pretty straightforward but Ive never built a mud hut and dont even know where to start. I would much appreciate if anyone can inform me about what materials I will need, where to get them and how to do it. I'm thinking maybe building a small wooden structure, then cover surround it in chicken wire (metal mesh) then cover the chicken wire in mud. Is that a viable approach? The part Im most unsure of is how to do the mud part. What kind of mud do I need and where can I get it? Im in Pucallpa in Peru so I cant find any specialty suppliers of mud building materials.

The mud is actually clay which is used for the structural integrity of the mud hut. Do you want to source this out from a store or would you like to harvest it from the ground? Since you're from Peru, I'm not sure how to point you in the right direction for this. My suggestion is you search youtube for tutorials. Even those guys "Primitive Technology" can help you learn a lot since they build stuff like this using only primitive tools.

I think that the main material you need to build a mud hut is definitely cob. And, of course, you will need a lot of dedication and discipline as well!
