From the internet:
Quartz countertops are non-porous, which means they do not absorb liquids or stains. Because of this, quartz countertops do not need to be sealed. While sealing a quartz countertop is possible, it’s not necessary.
Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's continental crust, behind feldspar.
Quartz countertops are a very popular choice for restaurant kitchens and serving areas. Quartz countertops are a non-porous material that is stain resistant and bacteria resistant so it is a great option for restaurants. Quartz is also impact and scratch resistant making it an excellent choice for high-use public areas. |

Marble is too soft for kitchen counters but it is fine for bathroom counters. Quartz and Granite are good choices for kitchen counters. I personally prefer Granite as I feel it has more character than Quartz. But Granite being a natural stone needs to be sealed every year or so as it not a man-made non-porous mix of ground stone and plastic resin like Quartz. However, sealing Granite is quite easy to DIY. |
