We build a home with a walkout basement ICF that is 11 feet high. Our question is how up the wall can we backfill. We been told conflicting information, some say 6-8 inches from finished soil and some say we can only backfill up to the 9-10 level. Just looking for a straight answer. Thanks

What is the vertical reinforcement schedule for your wall. For example (e.g.) #4 rebar 16" On Center, #5 rebar 24" O.C., etc. Does the vertical rebar tie to the footer? Horizontal rebar schedule? What kind of backfill? e.g. clay, gravel, etc.?

Also, I hoped you used a 8" block and not 6"

I was thinking the exact same thing. If the person used a 6....It wouldn't be good.
