I was inspired by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L2ef1CP-yw I want to gauge the breeze I'm able to generate by opening different windows and doors as well as by placement of fans. I hesitate to buy a vane anemometer for fear it won't be sensitive enough for the slow moving airflow involved. I've heard that a hot wire anemometer is what you want, but those are expensive. Does anyone have any thoughts on a low end model that might work, or guidance on how to jerry rig something like the gentleman in the video did?

Piece of tissue paper works good. We love our attic fan....open the farthest window and turn it on....
