Hi Y'all, Very new to this forum. First off, apologize for not searching myself. The search function seems broken. So I will just ask the question: I have a detached garage, 2008 build, 900 sq ft, bare studs + tarpaper (or whatever it should be called) + hardie siding. I would like to air condition it from time to time with a DIY mini split. Before I start doing that, I would like to insulate it and drywall it (DIY, might outsource the drywall), so that there is at least the potential of using the garage as a dual-purpose room. I am from up north, and I don't know much about building in Houston. Everything I know about vapor barriers is wrong, for example. Based on what I've read, I guess I can just put in unfaced batts and drywall over it and that's it? Won't be the most well-insulated structure, but should work for knocking the temps down to the 80s (which is enough for me to work on cars). Should keep the studs from rotting. Should be okay. What is your advice for a quick and dirty way to get decent insulation/finishing in a detached garage? Matt
