Hi new here, and I am on a mission to make my house more energy efficient. I will be lurking here quite a bit looking for ideas and help, would like to hear some ideas on how to deal with ceiling/floor line insulation. I have some thermal pictures from last winter (attached). In one of the picture is a vaulted ceiling (and the coldest room). Thank you.

Add foam board insulation to outside......or build a new house like ICF...?

What are your heating bills? might save you more to just spend money on solar help save.

I too am looking for ways to make my new build more energy efficient. Were you able to find any suggestions regarding the insulation? I live in a very cold area, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Having started my business career as an insulation contractor, the only way I would build would be ICF

Thanks for your help! I had to look up what ICF stood for and it looks like it would be great for energy efficiency. My only question would be, is it often used for residential builds? Everything I can find online indicates it's more of an industrial system. I've only been able to find articles like this one: https://www.cement.org/cement-concrete/paving/buildings-structures/concrete-homes/building-systems-for-every-need/insulating-concrete-forms-(ICFs)

Probably 95% of my sales are residential. Hard to believe that's all there is. Look at the info. from manufacturers. Just query ICF manufacturers in a search. They all have examples.
