I need to create a short wall to separate an upper space from a lower one. The primary need is dust control - the lower level is a wood shop, upper area is a "clean" space where I'm going to try and limit dust ingress. I also want to minimize hot air loss from the first floor to the second - both spaces will be heated (mini split). I have a simple solution for the stairwell - just a hinged clear panel that I can lift when going up/down.
The wall is 36" X 20' - I'd like to use clear materials to allow light transmission, though they don't have to be fully transparent. At the moment I'm leaning towards double wall polycarbonate greenhouse panels (or clear roofing sheets).
However - I would love to reuse found materials. Weight is a factor - I cannot make it out of glass bottles and concrete (though would love the look).
I was trying to figure out if there was something I could do with a roll of hardware cloth or chicken wire - for instance cover each square in that "dip it fantasy film" they use to make flower jewelry, but that seems... environmentally unsound and too flammable. Long-term durability is also questionable. Some other wacky ideas:
1) cut apart 2-liter pop bottles into flat sheets and rivet them to chicken wire - cons seems flammable, would be difficult to clean. Also, I don't drink pop so would have to source the material
2) stretch thick sheet vinyl in a frame - not really reusing materials, and probably very flammable.

I have no timeline on this - in fact I don't need to worry about it until next year, but I'm trying to think of ideas.
