In July my wife and I toured a model home in Ocala FL that had a $38,000 array of photovoltaics on a SIDE roof to generate all the electricity needed.  The community management actually encouraged the use of PV.  I was somewhat amazed because I have heard so many stories of subdivisions not allowing any type of solar equipment to be visible from the street.  I do hope PV's become more acceptable and common in strict subdivisions.

As a certified green builder here in florida , It is becoming more acceptable & more common place , as the public is becoming more educated on green building & energy usage. Thanks to people like me who donate a lot of our time educating the general public & Govt. on the postive points...

Actually, in florida there is a Solar Rights Law that prevents any homeowner's association, town, etc preventing anyone from installing solar panels, clotheslines, etc.
