According to a new law which took place from April 1,2012.New York enacted two laws which expand the state's net metering policy to encompass additional technologies. One new law (S.B. 1149) extends net metering to micro-hydroelectric generators of up to 25 kilowatts (kW) for residential customers and 2 megawatts (MW) for non-residential customers. Another (A.B. 7765) extended net metering to fuel cell systems of up to 1.5 MW for non-residential customers. In March 2012 the New York Public Service Commission (PSC) issued an order (see PSC Order Case 11-E-0318 et al.) approving revised utility tariffs
