Thinking of trying to put solar on my roof.  I have a friend that is a contractor and can handle the installation of the system.  Is there a recommendation on panel type and manufacturer?

I want to incorporate some Solar Water heating as well.

I have tried to register at Solar Panel Talk for weeks now and they won't confirm my account.

They have been having issues with certain email types (ie gmail works but yahoo doesn't)

I read they think they have fixed the problems.

I don't think that brand makes much difference. Check out www.sunelec.com to verify that the price you are getting is in the ball park.
