Acrylic Glass instead of Glass for Windows

Has anyone tried to use a 0.75 inch thick acrylic sheet for a window? I heard now you can get a coating (film) for it from Hantia that will give you good insulative/reflective properties. Before people can't put films on acrylic. ie the outgassing would bubble out the film.
