He's only talking about the "low E" Tyvek (and I agree that like most products that rely on low emmissivity, it's benefits are likely oversold).

And he (rightly) takes back the bit about programmable T-stats with a sidways comment about whether they actually get programmed (the presumption being that most aren't?)

I'd put nano-scale insulating paints & paint additives way ahead of programmable T-stats and cheap unglazed solar panels.
