Thanks in advance for any input. I have been living in my new home for approximately 1 year. There are two bay windows at the front of the home that have Exterior MDF trim boards (I believe) around them that are bowing and splitting apart. The caulk between the boards is hideous and cracking.  Is there a better product or method for trimming these windows?

They used MDF board on the exterior. Not too smart!! Either use AZEK or HardiTrim.
Thank you,

Haven't used it personally but they are all very similar designs once you get into the category of cellular PVCs.
The difference is clear

They are more likely MDO boards the same as the highway departments use for signage. Use to be a good product but I stopped using them a couple of years ago because the stuff we were getting here was delaminating.

What about fiber cement panels?
fiber cement panel is waterproof, termite proof, non-expansion and non-cracking in sun and rain.
