Is the Andersen E4 glass good for south facing glass on a passive solar house?

https://www.andersenwindows.com/windows-and-doors/options-and-accessories/glass-options/

I read recently that Alpen and maybe JT Windows and Lincoln were the only ones.

Simonton windows is another name. Any others?

Will not use Hurd, they were bought out years ago anyway.

As some of the window manufacturers might be re-branding or relabeling the Lo-E-180 glass for marketing purposes I've sent in a request to Cardinal asking for a short list using their product.

There is no contact e-mail provided on their website, so I just did an "info@" as a default.

Waiting to see if it gets kicked back.

The frustrating thing with the Andersen product is they use a star rating system with no numbers, and I'm not going to call the Tech-Department just yet while doing preliminary research.  Might do it later though, as it's an educational experience calling a technical department - if you get the right person.

Thank you for the link icfbound.

For US climate zones 6 or lower it's worth going for the LoE180 on surface #2 + i89 on surface #4 for south facing glass on a passive solar house. The SHGC is still north of 0.5, but the U-factor drops to under U0.25, with argon fill it can even be under U0.22.

For climate zone 7 & up the resulting cooler surface temp on surface #4 (due to the i89 reflecting heat back into the room) results in too much window condensation when it's cold outside, which cuts into window performance (the emissivity of water is pretty high) and makes a mess. Even at the cold edge of zone 6 this can be an issue, making triple-panes a better choice.

From Cardinal today.

Hello, below is a short list of our customers who have purchased this product in the past. I was not able to access our PO system to see if they currently purchase.

Andersen Windows

Pella Windows

Marvin Windows

Jeld-Wen

Quanex-Home shield

Atrium Windows
Keep in mind that I only asked for a list of the top half dozen or so. And there may be many makers left off this short list or using similar glass from other sources.

Dana1, what are these different surfaces you speak of?

Multi-panes or different sides of the house?

Edit:
Got my answer in the 3rd post of another forum thread, thanks anyway.

Not sure if you ever figured out Andersen, if you havent, LowE4 is a marketing label for their dirt resistant feature on the exterior surface of all the glass they offer it on, its not a performance feature. Performance ratings are exactly the same as same series regular LowE (SmartSun, Sun, PassiveSun, lowE, ect) Andersen makes units with LowE/LowE4 PassiveSun glass, that is the series youd want on south facing. All glass and NFRC ratings are on their website so you can compare brands.

Im not sure if Andersen produces their own glass, contracts or both (I dont know if Passive Sun is Cardinals 180, if not you could compare Cardinal 180 center of glass performance with Andersen Passive Sun center of glass performance).
