We are building a near passive house (should meet PH standards but we aren't going to get certified) in southwestern Colorado. A little google searching said those 3 were my best best and two were in CO even which was nice.
Prices:
Neuffer's was the highest by about 20% though

Website looks nice but seems to show they are in the US, not sure, but it seems most people on the phone aren't America, or even German. Sounds like eastern Europeans. Also when pushed, they admit they don't even manufacture windows, they're just a middle man.
Delivery
Getting stuff from Europe is the big time suck here and Zola and Neuffer quoted about the same time frame. Alpen of course is local so somewhat different.
But Neuffer doesn't actually deliver! They send it to your nearest port (which is pretty far if you're not on the coast!) and you have to arrange the rest. I want good windows but why do I need to figure out a customs broker, arrange transport for hte container from New York or Savannah to me!
In short, going with Zola. More honest, better service and people are located here if you need something. |
