Hey all,

I figured I'd post here since it seems more a commercial tool than residential.

I spoke to the owner of a local fastener supplier the other day about methods for fastening foam to a brick substrate.  He pointed me to a gas-actuated fastening system (butane).  He claimed it's self-sensing, and that the fastener will fire flush with the surface and no further even if the surface is soft, ala EPS.

Does anyone have experience with this system?  Is the self-sensing feature a load of hogwash?

Couldn't tell ya what brand he was carrying - it's been quite a while since we spoke . . .

thanks,
charlie

Sounds sort of like a passload that will shoot into concrete. i have a passload. it's a great framing nailer. a little bit slower than pneumatic, but you don't need a compressor.
