Since I saw the post for the SIP school in Florida, I decided to show a few photos of the school I'm involved with in Virginia.  The photos below are from Aug. 12, 09, Oct. 12, 09, Dec. 12, 09.  I will post another for every other month next.  The project is going to for LEED Gold and is scheduled to open in about 4 weeks.  Hope you like it.  renangle

The project is for St. Anne's Belfield school in Charlottesville VA. The school was designed by Bowie Gridley Architects out of Washington DC and being built by English Construction. Cliff Harrison is the owners representative on the project. The project has the following green features:

110 well centralized geothermal HVAC
ICF Envelope - Amvic
Pervious Concrete Parking area (close to 1 acre)
Green Roof
75,000 gal Cistern, where grey water will be reused through the building
There will be a active kiosk on site (and on-line) to monitor the building's performance

The building is 105,000 sqft and will house the Lower and Middle schools. The building really encompasses passive solar quite well.

They are also going to get a LEED point under Innovation for using a percentage of Cradle to Cradle Certified products. I am unaware of this happening before, but will ask the folks at MBDC.

They are anticipating that it will achieve LEED Gold Certification. The school representatives visited projects in Bowling Green, KY to ensure they were taking the right steps. Any other questions, I can probably answer them.
