I am putting up a 8,000 sq foot warehouse. I have a showcase in the front, then offices, and the warehoue in the back. I have a usable space above the offices as my walls are 21 ft and it allows for less wasted space. Heres my issue. I am located in Saskatchewan. The building is post frame or pole shed style. It comes from the USA however a Canadian engineer stamped it for Saskatchewan which is where I am. The Canadian engineer says I need 3 trusses of double sides drywall and the company that manufacturered the building says I need one truses of double sided drywall and 2 trusses of OSB because its a draft stop not a fire wall.
I need help
Thanks bunches
this is really a code question and should be directed toward your localCanadian building official, but based on your information if it were in the US , I would say your engineer is correct and it would be common to see a fire wall between the showroom / warehouse
