I'd really like your opinions. In general are fiberglass windows superior performance worth their extra cost?

Why do you keep changing your forum name?

We already know you work for a Canadian fiberglass window manufacturer. It would be better if you just came out and stated who you are and offer your assistance if someone was interested in fiberglass windows from your company. You would be more respected if you did that than trying to act like you are just a random person asking questions about fiberglass windows.

I actually have a couple of Fibretec windows in the house and I'm sorry I didn't spend a few more bucks and put in Thermotech or the Rehau Genoa windows that I can get from Germany. The hardware is a base product on the Fibretec and there is steel bridging in the frame for stiffness.

New.
A general real decent payback already seems hard enough to see vs. some home depot types (for much less than fg) over the decencies of quality windows; - I mean that when nicely (paid to be) installing a few at a time. Calculator-considerations of what is field proven efficiency and longevity and exteded quality seems more appropriate .

How about Accurate Dorwin fiberglass, what do you think of them?

The first Fibreglass windows i installed were triple pane Dorwin (before it was so Accurate) back in 93 and they are still good, no seals broken and all the hardware works fine. There was only one problem that I know about which is a warped seal on one window and I don't know why it happened (just a couple of years ago). If they haven't changed much, I would recommend them.

I would definitely agree Accurate is a solid window.

On a similar note, below is a very interesting article....

Fiberglass is not my option, scratches make your window creepy.

We are installing triple pane casement (a few fixed and awning) inline fiberglass windows in a new home in Virginia. 6 inch walls with wall board returns inside- Harde Board Outside.

Inline does not provide many details on installation. Any suggestions on how to best install them?

thanks
