HI, I'm building a 1300 sq. ft. restaurant in arkansas and wondering what size hvac system I will need for a building that is 30'x44' on a concrete slab that will have 12' 6.5" wall panels and roof panels. there will be 3 5'x6' windows and a vent hood with refresh air. I plan to do the exterior with sandstone and a flat roll out roof. whats the tonnage for a unit to for this building? thanks-Brick

Brick,
you cannot size an HVAC system for commercial buildings based on square footage and insulation, it needs to be sized by a professional that will also take into consideration occupancy load and fresh air intake for your equipment and occupants.

Chris has it right- the mandatory ventilation rates and other aspects of commercial construction is a very different cup o' joe from a simple Manual-J or IBR load calculation appropriate for residential construction. It has to be designed correctly for the actual commercial application & occupancy etc if it's going to both work, and meet code. A restaurant is not a house.

It all depends on the location. Its better you contact a HVAC technician for better Hvac systems according to the requirements.

I.E.) (sorry so later)

Owner said : "See the calculator says I need ..."

In a 4200 square foot custom home 2014 Half-Walk-Out basement--- Cooling system is simply fifty-percent less. Cooling and Heating is all in a trouble-free Four-Ton just above zone IV, 2 head mini-split + 3 mini-insulated-attic-air-handlers to a few attic insulated+blanketed ducts. Ceiling registers adjusted narrow-diffusing + all HIGH return grills; and based entirely on professional calcs verified by the equipment manufacturer.

Please only consider and verify the experienced pro and ask for equipment manufacturer's opinion or the distributor's technical opinion of a person they may have on staff training dealers, or the like per several above.
