So we're in the process of building a 40 x 80 x 20 (r-31 walls and ceiling)aircraft hangar here in northern UT. The winter temps can drop below 0 regularly. In my dreams I had thought a geo system with a liquid to air heat pump would be sweet, with hopes of having cheap A/C in the summer. I'm starting to think that isn't an option. Should I just go with NG radiant heat and get the idea of cooling out of my head, or is here a more efficient option out there i haven't considered?

You need to state your design goals more clearly. Like are you going to heat it all the time? What temp are you planning on it being at most of the time. Are you just going to heat it when you are working in the hanger?

With the increased efficiency of Mini splits geo has fallen from popularity. The install cost of geo is huge and the pay back has gotten worse also. I put a geo system in our last house and the electrical supplier flipped the cheap cost of electric from winter to summer and made it cost prohibitive to run for heating, so I switched the house to Natural Gas.

Radiant floors only work if you are going to heat the building all the time. They usually take like 6 hours to heat up from being cold so it makes it hard to plan to just go there and work as needed.

Good Luck and ask more questions.
