I have had good luck with solar, although shaded spots may not be able to power individual lights through the entirety of the night. If the individual lights are not your thing, you could consider a wired system that is powered by a larger solar panel or wind turbine.

I dont know you still want or not, but I suggest you check on Christmas Coupons, because I recently bought good quality LED light from there, and really its not much expensive and good in quality too, I also saw there many backyard and other lights oo, I hope you will get good one from there.

You've probably found something by now, but, if not, check out the Alpha 1080X. That's the one I purchased on Amazon; had it for going on 2 years and it works great. If I were to buy again, I might go for the 2020X, which is larger but puts out more light. I am basically using it as a night light. I have it programmed to stay on all night at low lumen until it's optic eye is triggered by movement, and then it flips to high power.
