I'm new to this forum and just wanted to say hi and give you a quick background of my project. I have been posting on diychatroom.com the last year and a half. I think this site will be a good balance of information. Here are a couple of pics of what I've been doing. A complete gut and rebuild. Dorf Dude... I keep trying to attach pic's that are 95k and the web site say they are too big, they exceed 100k. They are smaller that 100k and I have had no problems on other sites.

2nd try with pic's. This is a very quick over view of the last 14 months. This is all DIY except the roof beams. A crane was needed. Dorf dude...

The roof has 10cm of foam with a radiant foil over it. The ground floor will be slab radiant with 5cm of Dow Roofmate. Source of heat is a Rika Evo Aqua pellet stove backed up with vacuum tube solar and eventualy a work shop wood burner tied into it. On the outside wall will be 4cm of Neopor. My ground floor walls are over 18" thick so a thermal mass is what I'm working with. Let me know if you see something wrong please. Always looking for better ideas, Dorf Dude...

I thought it looked familiar! I spent ten years in Amberg in the Oberpfalz, Dorf Dude. In fact I haven't even been gone for an entire year yet. I miss it very much. I wish you the best of luck with your project. Servus!

Wow, you were almost in my back yard. I'm directly on the main highway to Amberg. Many eyes are following my progress every day as they drive by. I plan to be in by this winter. Not finished but camping livable. Dorf Dude...
