Any recommendations for inexpensive, easy to use CAD for house plans?
3D would be nice but not necessary.
Easy to get started is main requirement.

Thanks

I used 3D Home Architect Deluxe versions 3 and 4 to design my home. It is easy to use once you play with it a little bit. Version 4 has many sample plans to use/modify and also has a wizard to get you started. You can export the floor plans in DXF format and then open, change, or print in large format using a CAD program or forward them to a print shop. I think both versions are now out of production, but can be found on Amazon for not much $. Version 4 has better "textures" for 3D viewing (shingles, bricks, etc.). Version 4 says it was produced by the same makers of Chief Architect. Later versions have gotten poor reviews on Amazon and I think were produced by Punch and are not compatible with plans developed in earlier versions like 3 and 4. Check it out on Amazon.

I would second Sketchup. I normally use Autocad but use Sketchup for certain things. It is pretty easy to use.
